| WHAT IS "THE" VISION? My dream to see BeAttitudes transform into an anointed Drama Group that MINISTERS under the guidance of the Holy Spirit has come true!. I have faith that God will continue to open doors since He has been doing so already. I see a future of full play productions and short films with stories about how Jesus impacts every aspect of our lives. I see a group of actors who have both passions pumping in their hearts and deep in their souls. The two passions being Jesus & Drama... and in that order. In a few years, it would be an awesome blessing to have a Christian Theatre and even an actors' training program. With GOD... anything is possible! I graduated with a degree in Theatre & Media Studies from Fordham University and have studied the craft of acting at a professional level at MTB Studios, T. Schreiber Studios, and TVI. In addition, for the Honor and Glory of God, I have graduated from the Spanish Eastern Bible Institute and am a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God. My vision was born during my very last final before graduation in 1994 at Fordham. It was a personal monologue for my Theatre Production Lab. The assignment was to write and memorize a monologue about the thing I am most passionate about in my life. I was standing in the middle of a world of story telling & role playing and shared about my how my life was transformed by taking a simple step of faith. I shared my monologue to a room full of fellow actors with only half of my dream. I shared my passion of standing on the stage and being able to touch the life of someone by playing a role that was similar to them or someone in their life. But I also shared with them the Person of Christ who was sent by God the father that whoever believes in Him would not die, but have everlasting life. I started my monologue in an empty theatre. Who wanted to hear about Jesus? But as I spoke the chairs filled completely. I wanted to be a famous actor. But God wanted me to be a preacher. I ended my monologue stating that my dream/vision would be to have the opportunity to put both of my passions to work together. At the end of that class, one young aspiring actor, who was backslidden, dropped his cigarette to the floor and reconciled with the Lord. That is how it all started. Ten years after graduation the group started to develop early in 2004. But like all things in our spiritual walk we were not without rough spots. Through growing pains, trials, re-organizing and much prayer and interceding we got it right later that same year. There are many beautiful testimonies since. We are 3 years old. After a few years of growth and maturing in the Lord and still in process, with the help of God and those who God placed in my path, BeAttitudes Drama is a planted seed that has grown and is growing! Keep me us your prayers! (Updated 5/2007, Leticia Soto - Group Director) |
