| MORE ABOUT US As mentioned already, beatitudes (spelled correctly with one t) are the list of blessings as preached by Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount found in the Gospel of Matthew in chapter 5. It was one of Jesus' teachings in the beginning of His ministry. In it He explains what He expects of members of His Kingdom. Each beatitude includes a pronouncement of blessing. You can say that in a way, it describes the "attitudes" of those that are blessed indeed. And if you look up in the word "blessed" in a dictionary you will find definitions and adjectives stating it means happy. And isn't it a happy experience to serve Christ? Isn't it a happy experience to be saved through Jesus? So in a sense, can we not say that the beatitudes lists what our attitudes should be as Christians? So this is why we are called BeAttitudes Drama Group (with an extra t for double the blessing). We want this drama group to be a pronouncement of blessing to anyone who has the opportunity to see one of our plays, conferences or workshops. Our goal is to produce realistic scenarios about the attitudes and situations we face and how God can and will lead us to the person He would like us to be. |
